The IEEE has rolled out three new subscription packages for those who want access to the latest journals and magazines, computer-related research, or standards.
IEEE Journals Plus provides access to the abstracts and full-text documents of all IEEE journal and magazine articles published within the last four years. Until now, subscribers had to pay for access to all IEEE Xplore content going back to 1988. With IEEE Journals Plus, subscribers can have access to just the most current information in the digital library for a significantly lower price.
The annual subscription price to download 500 documents is US $24 995. Downloads of additional documents will cost more:
- $1200 for 100 documents
- $5500 for 500 documents
- $10 000 for 1000 documents
As an added bonus, subscribers can download the IEEE’s entire collection of conference proceedings from any year at no additional charge.
The IEEE Computing Library contains the institute’s 27 journals, magazines, and conference proceedings that cover computing-related research only. Such a collection had not been available until now. A subscription also includes the option to view other IEEE publications that cite the research found in this collection. And if the IEEE releases new publications in this field, subscribers will get access to them as well. This year’s new journals are IEEE Transactions on Haptics, IEEE Transactions on Learning Technologies, and IEEE Transactions on Services Computing.
An annual subscription is US $19 995 for 1000 downloads. Subscribers can buy additional downloads at the same rates as the IEEE Journals Plus package.
IEEE Standards Choice offers full-text access to more than 2100 standards. Subscribers can also elect to receive an e-mail message when a specific standard has been updated and when new and draft standards become available. Until now, you could only purchase standards based on specific content selections. IEEE Standards Choice lets you download up to 20 standards from the list of more than 2100. Price is based on an organization’s size and yearly revenue. For a quote, send an e-mail to email@example.com.
All three subscriptions allow employees in the same company to share documents. A so-called virtual file cabinet stores articles already downloaded by others.
Free trials for all three options are available. For more information visit www.ieee.org/innovate.
