IEEE recently launched a new business platform, known as IBP, which includes substantial improvements to the member and customer experience. Individuals joining IEEE or renewing their memberships as well as customers making purchases now have an intuitive, one-page form designed to help them accomplish their tasks more quickly and easily.

When members and customers first sign in to manage their membership or profile, or to use IEEE Xplore, they will be prompted to change their IEEE Account username to their preferred e-mail address. This e-mail address must then be used to sign in to all IEEE services. This one-time change applies to all IEEE members, as well as nonmember users of IEEE Xplore. The change is not required for users who already have an institutional username and password to access IEEE Xplore.

The IBP launch also includes several enhancements to IEEE Xplore such as new browsing capabilities; enhanced article abstract pages with easy-to-use tabs containing citations, references, and other information; improvements to the article purchasing process; and easier ways to manage personal profiles.

A list of FAQs and a live chat feature to answer any other questions are available on the IEEE Support Center. Live chat is available 24 hours a day, five days a week, from 4:30 p.m. ET (20:30 GMT) Sunday to 4:30 p.m. ET Friday.
