IEEE Revises Policy for Posting Manuscripts on Third-Party Servers

New guidelines are now available

15 November 2013

The IEEE Publication Services and Products Board recently established a new policy to allow IEEE papers to be posted to third-party servers (servers that do not belong to IEEE or the author) that have been approved by PSPB.

To nominate a server, individuals can download and submit this request form from this page, which will be reviewed by the IEEE Intellectual Property Rights Office and forwarded to PSPB. Only servers hosted by nonprofit organizations will be considered.

For more information, visit IPR Office’s new Web page, which includes instructions on how to complete the form. IPR Office staff will also maintain a list of servers that have been approved. The current list includes, an online repository hosted by Cornell University, in Ithaca, N.Y., for papers in the fields of astronomy, computer science, mathematics, physics, and quantitative biology.
