Processing Fellow Nominations Made Easier

IEEE Fellows evaluation process goes electronic

8 January 2009

The job of evaluating nominees for Fellow grade by IEEE societies and technical councils is getting a bit easier with the new Society Electronic Process (SEP). No longer will each group's Fellow evaluating chairs be copying and mailing hard copies of forms back and forth among its review committee members and the IEEE Fellow Activities staff. The SEP, scheduled to launch in April, is automated.

Instead of mailing the information, the SEP calls for Fellow Activities staff to send a link to the chairs. The link will allow the chairs to form their committees, forward the pertinent nomination forms to committee members, and deliver their final evaluations back to the Fellow Activities staff.

All Fellow evaluating chairs are to receive a tutorial that reviews the process before the SEP debut.

IEEE membership offers a wide range of benefits and opportunities for those who share a common interest in technology. If you are not already a member, consider joining IEEE and becoming part of a worldwide network of more than 400,000 students and professionals.
