The Five Foundational Technologies That Will Make Up 5G Networks

IEEE Spectrum video describes each one in detail

24 March 2017

The new “Everything You Need to Know About 5G” video produced by IEEE Spectrum illustrates the five most promising potential technologies that will make 5G communications networks faster and allow for more traffic with fewer interruptions. They are millimeter wave spectrum, small cells, full duplex, massive MIMO (multiple input, multiple output), and beam forming.

Watch the video to learn more about these technologies. And be sure to read our article “5G: The Future of Communications Networks,” to find out how IEEE is working to advance the next-generation network.

This article is part of our March 2017 special issue on 5G wireless networks.
