The Clarkson University IEEE Student Branch, in Potsdam, N.Y., and the Mohawk Valley Section received a US $8,800 EPICS in IEEE grant to create a recycling intake system. The system includes electric meters to count containers and calculate payments to customers. A user-friendly graphical interface was added to control and read the meters as well as analyze data. IEEE Life Fellow Charles Robinson, director of Clarkson University’s Center for Rehabilitation Engineering, helped spearhead the project.
